NHAI tightens service standards for ambulances on national highways

India National Highway Authority, NHAI has reportedly introduced stricter service standards for ambulances on national highways, requiring arrival at accident sites within 10 minutes for incidents within 10 km and hospital transport within one hour. The ambulances must also maintain prescribed medical equipment, medicines and trained personnel, with performance monitored through GPS and NHAI’s dashboard.
