FSSAI seeks review of micro/nanoplastics warning labels

India’s central food authority, FSSAI has reportedly urged the Madras High Court to review its direction requiring drinking water, sugar and salt sold in plastic packaging to carry a prominent warning that they may contain micro/nanoplastics. The regulator has sought reconsideration of the labelling requirement, which could significantly affect food and beverage packaging practices.
