Product listings on e-commece platforms to carry additional information from January 1, 2027

The Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) (Amendment) Rules, 2026 expand the information marketplaces must display about goods and sellers, including country of origin, best-before or use-before dates, return shipping costs and government-issued identification numbers such as GSTIN or MSME registration numbers. The amended requirements will apply from 1 January 2027.
